Cotton is the most important natural fibre produced in the world.

It is a natural textile fibre such as wool, silk and linen. This fiber has several properties that make its use so widespread: it absorbs moisture and expels body heat, dyes well, does not generate static electricity, is insulating and withstands high temperatures.

Cotton has its pros and cons:

Pros

  • Light, resistant and washable yarns.
  • The longer the yarns are the less pilling and breaking they are.
  • Does not charge static electricity.

Cons

  • It shrinks if we don't apply special treatments such as sanforizing.
  • Moulds due to excess humidity.
  • Suffers from sun damage if it's not dyed properly.
